This little pig went to market.
Several years ago, I was asked to bead a 3D sculpture as a Christmas present for a customer's daughter. Since I was just learning the bead stitches, and had never worked in 3D with beads, I told the person who requested this pig that I would need at least 6 weeks.
After we agreed on a price, and the supplies were ordered, I received a call asking if I would do a rush order.
This little pig was nearly my undoing, and I certainly had no time for doing anything else for the following three weeks! The price was increased due the increased time that I had to work on the project, and I got busy.
The pig was made with 10,000 seed beads, pink India silk, and lampwork beads for the eyes. She was 8" tall and 12" long. I sewed her back legs to her stomach so it would look like she was sitting, and the customer was able to give this beaded pig to his daughter.
Lesson learned - I do not do rush orders! I do, however, think I will attempt another 3D sculpture. Stay tuned! :)
